Targets & Cells

Targets tell BatteryBee what series and parallel count you are aiming for. Cell specs define the physical packing size and the electrical numbers used by status, reports, resistance, and sag estimates.

Targets

  • Open Targets from the crosshair button in the workspace top bar.
  • Set Series target S for pack voltage and Parallel target P for capacity.
  • Targets guide slot counts, status badges, Series paint progress, and Reports. They do not force geometry by themselves.
  • A newly created design may show the targets modal once. You can close it and return later.
Targets vs actuals
The target is the goal. The actual pack comes from available cells, keep-outs, case clearances, layout spacing, and the series groups you paint.

Cell picker

Default library

BatteryBee includes common 18650 and 21700 cylindrical cells with diameter, height, nominal voltage, capacity, current limits, mass, and resistance where available.

Search

Search by name, chemistry, diameter, height, or combined size such as 21.7x70.

Custom cells

Add a custom cell when the library does not match your real part. Include electrical fields if you want useful reports.

What the selected cell affects

  • Physical packing: diameter and height determine how many slots fit in the envelope and how many vertical layers fit in the depth.
  • Voltage: nominal cell voltage times actual or target series count.
  • Capacity: cell Ah times actual or target parallel count.
  • Energy: voltage times capacity.
  • Reports: internal resistance, OCV points, current ratings, voltage limits, mass, and efficiency improve sag and resistance estimates.
  • Busbar and spacer previews: cap openings, hole radii, and clearances are tied to cell dimensions.

Status values

  • Assigned cells vs total slots shows how much of the generated cell grid is wired.
  • Series lanes assigned shows how many series groups exist in the current paint state.
  • Effective parallel appears when keep-outs or capacity limits reduce the usable parallel count.
  • Busbar eligibility turns positive only after the series assignment is valid enough for busbar generation.
