Series Wiring

The Series tab is paint mode. Assign cells to series groups, check that each group meets the parallel target, and verify contiguous lanes before busbars or exports.

Basic workflow

  1. Set targets and choose the real cell spec.
  2. Configure case keep-outs and layout spacing before painting.
  3. Open Series. Paint mode starts automatically unless the series assignment is locked.
  4. Use Prev/Next or arrow keys to move through series groups.
  5. Paint cells until the progress indicator reaches the target parallel count.
  6. Use the stats panel to fix incomplete, disconnected, or weakly connected series.
  7. Lock Series when every lane is valid and complete.

Toolbar controls

Series navigation

Move through S1, S2, and onward with the toolbar arrows, Left/Right, or Tab shortcuts.

Brush size

Sets the paint radius in millimeters. Smaller brushes help with dense packs and tight keep-outs.

Mirror

Paint symmetric cells across layers. This is useful for matching upper and lower stacks.

Protect

Prevents painting over already assigned cells while you fill the current series.

Contiguous

Restricts new paints so each series stays connected on the active layer.

Auto

Auto-advances when the current series reaches the target parallel count. Smart mode attempts useful next-series choices.

Stats panel

  • Progress summary shows how many series groups meet the parallel target.
  • Invalid series identify groups that are not contiguous on at least one layer.
  • Incomplete series show count vs target, such as S4 3/4.
  • Connection consistency measures adjacent series contact quality.
  • Weakest transitions identify adjacent series pairs that may need more contact area or an intentional bridge.
  • Lock Series appears only when the pack is valid, complete, and free of blocking issues.
Set case first
The app intentionally nudges you to configure Case before wiring. Keep-outs added later can remove assigned cells and make lanes invalid.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Exit paint mode with Esc.
  • Move series with Left/Right or Tab/Shift+Tab.
  • Move layers with Up/Down or [/].
  • Toggle brush with B; change brush size with +/-.
  • Toggle mirror with M and stats with S.
  • Toolbar collapse uses T; fullscreen uses F.

Fixing common wiring issues

  • If a group is short, paint additional unassigned cells into that S group.
  • If a group is disconnected, paint a bridge path between islands or erase and repaint the region.
  • If weak transitions cluster in one area, reorder or reshape neighboring series to increase adjacent contact.
  • If effective parallel is lower than requested, revisit Geometry, Case keep-outs, clearance, and Layout spacing.
  • Unlock Series if you need to revise geometry; lock again before configuring final busbars.
